Seasoned Biotechnology Professional, Alan Klein, Joins Team

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — September 10, 2015 — The HealthWell Foundation®, an independent non-profit that offers a financial lifeline for inadequately insured Americans, today announced Alan Klein has joined the Foundation as Chief Business Development Officer. In this newly created role, Mr. Klein will identify, develop and manage strategic partnerships relating to the Foundation’s corporate operations.

As a seasoned executive in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and healthcare arena, Mr. Klein brings more than 24 years of business experience with product portfolios, corporate transactions, and development programs to HealthWell’s senior management team. Prior to joining HealthWell, Mr. Klein was co-founder and Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at ETX Pharmaceuticals, a start-up organization focused on the development and commercialization of clinical stage assets in the gastrointestinal field.
